The Rap on a Rapper Court TV is all over Sean "Puffy" Combs' legal travails in New York like a cheap suit - and the hip hop artist is doing his best to thwart them.
Although the network can't broadcast his upcoming trial in Manhattan Supreme Court, its Web site features video reports from the courthouse steps and other juicy details.
Visitors to www.courttv.com/trials/puffy can pore over reports on jury selection, profiles of key witnesses, video clips, Combs' grand jury testimony and maps and photographs of the New York nightclub where the rap mogul is said to have been involved in a December 1999 shooting that left three people injured.
Two reporters are also stationed at the courthouse to give breaking news updates throughout the trial.
Just as well, since Court TV claims the rapper tried to derail their Jan. 22 special, the hour-long Mugshots: Sean "Puffy" Combs.
The show's producers say interview subjects failed to show up after agreeing to be on camera and that they were kicked off the grounds of Combs' Bronx high school after receiving initial cooperation from school officials.
"One by one, when we would show up to interview them, [they] declined and said they had been told not to talk to us," the show's executive producer John Parsons told the New York Post.
Here's hoping Style has better luck. The network is planning a live two-hour simulcast on Style and sister network E! Feb. 10, featuring a different kind of suit - those found in Combs' Sean John spring collection of men's and boy's clothing.
