WILSON TO HOST FIRST SPECIAL FOR SOAPNET
Singer Carnie Wilson will host SoapNet's first original At Home With? special, which is scheduled to air this spring. Wilson will be visiting and interviewing three different celebrities during the one-hour show. The Greif Company will produce the special. Leslie Greif and Tiffany McLinn will serve as executive producers.
PINTO TO LEAD HISPANIC MARKETING PUSH AT NBC
NBC Cable Networks named former Telemundo marketing head Lynette Pinto as VP-marketing. Pinto will report to Mark Hotz, SVP-marketing, and work to accelerate NBC Cable's Hispanic segment marketing efforts with affiliates.
?STARGATE SG-1? LAUNCHES SEVENTH SEASON SHOOTING
Production began last week in Vancouver on the seventh season of Stargate SG-1, Sci Fi Channel's top-rated original series. It will be the second season produced exclusively for Sci Fi.
SPEED CHANNEL GRABS WHEEL FOR DRIVER AWARD
Speed Channel will be the official presenter of the Driver of the Year, supporting the prestigious award with multiple in-program mentions and announcements of quarterly winners. In addition, Speed Channel's website, speedtv.com, will host online fan voting for the award.
JACKO BOOSTS VH1
Living With Michael Jackson and Driven: Lil Kim gave VH1 its highest-rated weekend ever. An average of more than 1.4 million viewers tuned in to watch the five replays of the infamous Jackson interview show.
TWO NEW TNN SHOWS
TNN said it has picked up two shows for later this year. The Funkmaster Flex Show will feature the world of celebrities and their cars. In Crash Test, contestants attempt to gain entry to parties to which they were not invited.
FAMILYNET WINS TELLYS
FamilyNet received 13 Tellys for its original programming. The Telly Awards recognize outstanding non-network and cable TV commercials and film and video productions.
