Last week CNN, continuing to remake its programming and personality roster, hired ABC News' Aaron Brown.
Brown will join CNN later this summer and anchor a flagship evening newscast the network is developing. He will also take what the network described as a lead role in major breaking news and live-event coverage.
CNN's longtime anchor Bernard Shaw retired earlier this year.
Brown joined ABC in 1991 and is now the anchor of ABC World News Tonight Saturday.
