CNBC SETS PRIME-TIME SLATE
The News With Brian Williams will begin running exclusively weeknights on CNBC July 15 at 7 p.m., with reruns at 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. The rest of CNBC's new lineup will include Kudlow & Cramer Monday to Thursday at 8 and Capital Report With Alan Murray and Tyler Mathisen Tuesday to Thursday at 9 p.m. On Fridays, Louis Rukeyser's Wall Street will follow a half-hour version of Kudlow & Cramer. On Mondays, Market Week With Maria Bartiromo will appear at 9 p.m. Meanwhile, Chris Matthews signed a new seven-year contract with NBC, and his show will appear exclusively on MSNBC beginning July 15 in a new 9 p.m. time slot.
TENNIS, ANYONE?
Turner Network Television and CNNfn will televise 114.5 hours of Wimbledon 2002 coverage; TNT will air 86.5 total hours of coverage, and CNNfn will air an additional 28 hours of programming. CNNfn will also be presenting a special series each weekday from June 24 to July 5 called Money & Sports, which will examine the business of sports.
TWO MORE YEARS OF QUEER
Showtime renewed its highest-rated original series, Queer As Folk, for two more seasons. Each season will have 16 episodes. This season ends June 16; next season is scheduled to begin in March.
A HALF-MILLION MORE LAUGHS
Comedy Central surpassed the 80 million subscriber mark, adding more than 500,000 subscribers in the past month and more than 8 million subscribers over the past year.
