CTAM will be focusing on the marketing of high-definition television at its upcoming summit in Boston.
The cable marketing group has added several sessions on HDTV, with prominent cable and programming executives offering guidance about the impact that technology will have on the industry ? and on operators' bottom lines.
?The industry has made a very aggressive commitment to HDTV, so we worked to see how we could meet this need,? said Seth Morrison, CTAM SVP-marketing.
Information about HDTV will be disseminated during keynote addresses by Discovery Communications founder, chairman and CEO John Hendricks and Mark Cuban, chairman and president of HDNet. Discovery recently announced that it would provide cable operators with a new channel of HDTV programming. There will be a session on the science of HDTV called ?Clearing Up the HDTV Picture.? Robert Sachs, president of the National Cable & Telecommunications Association, will also brief a general session on the digital transition.
