E! Entertainment staffers were surprised by the exit of their top executive, Fran Shea after just nine months.
Meanwhile, David Bohr-man was given the heave-ho at CNNfn, part of an ongoing purge of the financial news channel since the June departure of former president Lou Dobbs.
Shea, who took the title of acting president after President Lee Masters departed to head up Liberty Media's interactive TV unit, cited family as the reason for her departure. She will stay on until a replacement is chosen by owner partners Comcast Corp. and Liberty Media Corp. Shea plans to stay on as a consultant for two years, possibly concentrating on international markets and branding.
Bohrman, meanwhile, was escorted out of the CNNfn offices in Manhattan. He leaves with a year and a half remaining in his contract and will be replaced by Teya Ryan, executive producer for CNN's NewStand:CNN & Fortune magazine series.
Bohrman has been in a legal wrangle with CNNfn over what he claims was a breach of his contract. He was reportedly also upset that Moneyline News Hour producer Jeff Gralnick was handed responsibility for two hours of business news daily on CNN.
