Son of a Beach: FX Corrals Stern for Series

CABLE WORLD STAFF

Howard Stern is back into TV in a big way. He already has a syndicated Saturday night show and a series on E! Entertainment. Last week, New York's favorite shock jock sealed a deal with FX for six episodes of a new comedy called, Son of the Beach.

Scheduled to air in the first quarter of 2000, Beach follows the life of a stupid lifegard named Notch Johnson, who each week enlists babe-a-licious sidekicks to help him keep the beaches of a town called, Malibu Adjacent.

Stern is executive producer of the show, which stars Timothy Stack.

Howard Stern Productions recently inked a deal with Film Roman and UPN for 13 episodes of a cartoon series, Doomsday. Stern will provide one of the voices for the show.
