AOL TIME WARNER (NYSE: AOL)

AOL TW's AOL unit reached 32 million subscribers, but its growth pace was slightly slower than analysts at Merrill Lynch expected, and the investment bank trimmed by 200,000 its fourth-quarter subscriber estimate for AOL.

COMCAST COMMUNICATIONS (NASDAQ: CMCSK)

Comcast said it would launch in April 2002 a programming network focused on video, computer, online and wireless games. The new network, G4, has a commitment of 7 million subscribers from Comcast and Insight Communications.

CHARTER COMMUNICATIONS (NASDAQ: CHTR)

Delving further into interactivity, Charter and digeo launched six virtual interactive channels in Charter's L.A. cluster.

NEWS CORP. (NYSE: NWS)

News Corp. said it would issue about 115.2 million shares to Liberty Media Corp. in exchange for an additional 4% stake in Gemstar-TV Guide owned by Liberty.
