CABLE WORLD STAFF

AT&T Digital TV Center Gary Traver has been named SVP-video services. He will be responsible for the operations in Denver, Hong Kong, Los Angeles and New York. He had been VP-broadcast and network operations for Primestar, where he directed the company's efforts to introduce the first digital consumer service.

BET Michael Lewellan has been named VP-corporate communications. He was most recently VP-media relations for Fox Sports Net. Prior to that, he had been director-public relations for Turner Sports and the 1998 Goodwill Games. He also worked for Nike, the ING group and Southwestern Bell Telephone in St. Louis.

CNBC Rosemarie Barone has been promoted from primetime booking producer to booker for the networks business news. She has been a show producer for numerous CNBC shows and was also a consultant to Rainbow Holdings Corp. Prior to joining CNBC in 1995, she had been at NBC News from 1978-1993, where she produced the Today and Weekend Today shows. Phelps Hawkins has been named business news editor. He had been with New Jersey Network, a public broadcaster, where he was executive producer of TV news and GM. He had also been SVP-news and information for Public Radio International in Minneapolis, and had worked at NBC News as a foreign editor during the '70s and '80s.

CTAM Josh Sapan, president/CEO of Rainbow Media Holdings Inc. and Julian Brodsky, vice chairman, Comcast Corp., have been named chairman and vice chairman respectively of the CTAM educational foundation board of directors. Maggie Bellville, SVP-Cox Communications Inc., has been named to the board of directors. The foundation supports CTAM U, which is designed to offer senior executives the opportunity to advance their understanding of competitive marketing and improve customer satisfaction in cable, new media and telecommunications.

Cable One Richard Frey has been named director-digital video services. He had been with Adelphia Communications Cable where he was responsible for DVS product launches. Marc Tobolski will make a lateral move from marketing director, Central division to marketing director, digital video services and Internet services.

Charter Communications Heather Wood has been named VP-finance and acquisitions. She joined the company in 1995 as a financial analyst. Prior to that, she had been supervisor-planning for Monsanto in Mexico City, Mo. and a financial analyst for Monsanto Agricultural Co. in St. Louis.

Chateau Communications Erica H. Stull has been named VP-corporate communications and investor relations. She had been director-corporate communications for Jones Intercable. She has won numerous industry awards and was a member of the Cable Television Public Affairs Assn. She had also worked in Denver print and broadcast media.

Concurrent Computer Corp. Steve Nussrallah has been named president/COO. He has also been appointed to the board of directors, and on Jan. 1, he will also succeed E. Courtney Siegel as CEO. Siegel will remain chairman of the board and active in company activities.

Cox Communications Randy Wink's position as VP/GM, West Texas operations has been expanded to include 15 Cox systems serving 230,000 customers including Lubbock and Midland. He is a Cox veteran who came to the company from McCaw Communications Companies Inc. where he was GM.

E! Eileen Diskin has been named director-affiliate marketing. She comes to the network from the Disney Channel and Toon Disney where she was senior manager-sales strategy and affiliate marketing. Gary Snegaroff has been named VP-original production. He was most recently director-special projects for the network. Prior to joining E! in 1990, he had been a writer and producer for various network and syndicated series.

E! Online Jill Higson has been promoted from Western advertising director to national sales director. She joined E! Online in 1997 from Citysearch where she was national advertising manager. She had also been Southwest advertising manager for Family Life magazine and Los Angeles magazine.

ESPN John Rose has been named VP-human resources. He had been at the National Basketball Assn. for the past 10 years in human resources and other administrative positions. Prior to that, he was with NBC where he was VP-law from 1984-1989.

Etour.com Sam Howe has been appointed chief marketing officer. He had been SVP-Turner Network Sales and is a veteran of the cable industry having worked for 16 years for cable operators in franchise and corporate roles. In addition to working for Cox Communications, he worked for TeleWest Communications and helped to launch three spinoff companies, Cable-Internet, Front Row and CableRep. Eric Fliegal has been appointed CIO. He had been CIO for Support Technologies Inc., a provider of Help Desk products and services. He had also held CIO roles for EduTrek International and American InterContinental University. He was executive director of information services for Emory Healthcare.
