TIVO (NASDAQ: TIVO)

TiVo introduced a digital video recorder along with several new service deals that will allow users to access digital music, games, broadband video-on-demand and photos. Separately, TiVo raised $14 million in a stock offering.

HUGHES ELECTRONICS (NYSE: GMH)

Satellite unit DirecTV said it added 405,000 net new customers in the fourth quarter. For the year, DirecTV's 1.3 million net new customer adds represents a slower pace of customer additions than the year 2000.

COX COMMUNICATIONS (NYSE: COX)

Cox began transitioning its Cox customers to a self-managed network. Cox's entire subscriber base should be switched to the network by month's end.

AT&T (NYSE: T)

Rather than negotiate a sale to AOL Time Warner, AT&T may register for sale to the public its 25.5% stake in Time Warner Entertainment, the unit that includes Warner Bros., HBO and much of Time Warner Cable.
