Wink Communications last week made a deal to get into the interactive game market with Two Way TV (U.S.).
Two Way TV plans to distribute virtual game channels to households with Wink-enabled cable set-top boxes and satellite receivers. The channels will carry skill and strategy competitions, including trivia, casino, arcade and word games.
As part of the deal, Two Way TV also plans to design and launch a variety of enhanced TV games using Wink's Prosynch technology. These games will allow viewers to play along and participate in real time with game shows, sports broadcasts and awards ceremonies.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Two Way TV is a joint venture between Interactive Network Inc. and Two Way TV Ltd. Wink is currently available to more than 4 million satellite and cable households in North America.
