DirecTV upped its estimate for net subscriber growth in the first quarter to 325,000, from 200,000 to 250,000, raising the likelihood it will increase its full-year guidance when it announces first-quarter earnings.
RCN CORP. (NASDAQ: RCNC)
RCN sought shareholder approval to increase the number of its shares outstanding to 500 million from 300 million. The increase will give the company added flexibility to issue common stock for corporate purposes.
NEWS CORP. (NYSE: NWS)
Rupert Murdoch said he expects to launch additional channels in China following this month's launch of Mandarin-language entertainment channel Xingking Weishi.
