Scripps Networks' new Fine Living Channel launched last week, but executives wouldn't say just where it was appearing.
Time Warner Cable's digital cable system in Cincinnati will carry the network beginning this week, according to a network spokeswoman.
It will then spread to other Time Warner systems in Palm Springs, Calif.; San Diego; Milwaukee; and Dayton, Ohio. Ultimately, Time Warner will bring Fine Living to 5 million homes by 2003, all via its digital cable arm, according to Time Warner Cable spokesman Mike Luftman.
The new network offers a unique range of programs, including Radical Sabbatical, a show that features executives who dropped their busy careers in order to pursue their passions, and Back to Basics, a program that helps people simplify their lives.
Scripps said about two dozen sponsors had already signed up to target the potential audience seeking this type of content. While they would not disclose specific advertisers, most of the sponsors are from within the auto and financial industries, a Fine Living executive said. The network would not disclose the cost of advertising on the new channel.
