CABLE WORLD STAFF

BLOOM OFF THE ROSE: Wall Street investors continued to pummel shares of Comcast Corp. and Comcast Special last week following the March 22 announcement that it's buying MediaOne Group. Comcast's shares closed March 31 at $61.50, down 4% from the previous week. Comcast Special shares were off 5% to $62.94. MediaOne's stock, meanwhile, also lost ground on Wall Street last week. MediaOne's shares were down 5% from March 24 to $63.44 on March 31.

Despite fourth quarter and yearend results that were well within analysts' expectations, shares of Antec Corp. slipped 17% from the previous week to $21.50 on March 31.

Shares of General Instrument Corp. jumped after the company announced it's teaming with Telcordia Technologies Inc. to develop IP telephony solutions for cable providers.
