WE's McENROE HOSTS CHILDREN-THEMED ORIGINAL NIGHT
Rainbow Media-owned women's network WE announced last week that its president, Kate McEnroe, will be hosting an evening of programming about disadvantaged children around the world on May 5. That night the network will air three programs on the topic of children in challenging and difficult environments and their rescuers and caregivers: Mama Tina, about a woman who helps street children in Vietnam find shelter and food; Cool Women: A Romania Rescue, about the politics of adoption in Romania; and Artists and Orphans: A True Drama, an Oscar-nominated documentary short about a troupe of American actors traveling in the war-ravaged former Soviet Republic of Georgia. McEnroe's involvement is personal as well: She adopted two children from Romania several years ago.
NIGHT VISIONS ON SCI FI
Sci Fi Channel will be airing all 13 episodes of the thriller anthology series Night Visions starting June 14, the network said last week. Sort of a spacey Tales From the Crypt, each episode features two half-hour stories hosted by muscular rocker-activist Henry Rollins; among the luminaries featured in Visions installments are Bridget Fonda, Brian Dennehy and Jack Palance.
