Playboy Enterprises is poised to become the main purveyor of adult pay-per-view content on TV.
Playboy announced last week that it was acquiring three adult networks ? Hot Network and Hot Zone, which are currently owned by Califa Entertainment, and Vivid TV, a separate company owned by Califa's principals ? for $70 million. All will become part of Playboy's Spice networks, a more sexually explicit companion to the soft-core Playboy Channel.
