NETS AID NASDAQ- Blue chip and tech stocks rallied last Wednesday following last Tuesday's shabby showing. The DJIA rose 95 points or 0.9% to 10,972. The Nasdaq Composite added 28 points, or 0.9%, after suffering its worst percentage loss since Oct. 15. Big-cap tech stocks that suffered setbacks last Tuesday rebounded nicely the following day. Sun Microsystems Inc. added 3.56 to 135.81. America Online Inc. rose 3 to 75.88. Also helping to boost the Net sector was the surge in Yahoo! Inc., which added 13.25 to 226. The Internet bellwether will be added to the S&P 500 index, after trading closes Dec. 7. Yahoo! replaces Laidlaw, a Canadian company that makes buses and ambulances. The Goldman Sachs Internet Index gained 1.3% after plunging 5.5% the previous day. Also, AOL acquired Tegic Communications, which will advance the "AOL Anywhere" strategy for mobile telephones and other devices.
